Bruschetta and Caprese with vine-ripened heirloom tomatoes. Taste the difference!
We work with restaurants in two ways to provide best-in-season, best-in-area produce:
1 - Months in advance of when a dish is served, we work with chefs to identify a type and variety of specialty vegetable or melon to feature in or compliment a seasonal menu. We plant and nurture according to a cultural plan developed in partnership with the restaurant (for example, using no pesticides or herbicides). The goal is to grow what you want, how you want, when you want it. Pricing is agreed up front and the partner restaurant has first right of refusal for yields of the specialty crop.
AND
2 - We work with restaurants to develop a discount schedule on the items in the same web store available to our Members. The discount schedule provides volume-based discounts on larger quantities of produce. An approved and registered restaurant is free to purchase from the on-line market any time the market is open to our Members but the volume discounting schedule provides greater discounts for produce purchased on the final day of each weekly market. This ensures that our Members have an adequate selection to add-on or customize their deliveries prior to offering produce at discounted prices.
Interested? Call Reggie Oakley at 919.627.1121, complete the contact form below, or email us and we will get back to you within one business day to discuss these or other ideas in more detail. We think New Oaks Farm and its Farm Partners can enhance the already stunning food scene that the Bull City is famous for!
